Grading Policy
Tests/Projects: 35% You will have a least 2 test grades per quarter. Essays and major projects will carry the same weight as a test.
Quizzes/Map projects/Folder: 25% Quizzes will be given periodically throughout a given unit and will be announced at least 1 week in advance. Folder/portfolio checks and map projects carry the same weight as a quiz.
Class work: 15% You will always have a daily assignment on your Chromebook to complete in class.
Homework: 15% You will be given assignments at least 1 to 2 times per week. The assignments could be reading/writing or may involve studying or reviewing for an upcoming test or quiz. You will need your Chromebook for some homework assignments. There will also be times when you have a project due and weekends maybe more convenient to complete it.
Class performance/Participation/Map Skill Journal: 10% You can always earn points for active participation in class; this includes bringing your Chromebook, asking and answering questions, being prepared and putting in an honest effort, getting all class work and homework completed.
Late Assignments: All work turned in late will be marked down by 10 points. School work that is more than 5 days late, will only be accepted at the discretion of the teacher.
Absent Work: Students who are absent will have 1 week to make up all missing assignments. To make up a missed quiz or test, please see the teacher to schedule a make up. A quiz or test, must be taken within 1 week. If you think you have missed any work, please make arrangements to meet with the teacher. Don’t wait until it’s too late!
Homework Raffle: Students will have an opportunity to participate in our class homework raffle. To earn a raffle
ticket, homework needs to be completed and turned in on time/the day it is due. Raffle dates are October 26th, December 21st, February 15th, April 12th, and June 3rd. On raffle day, 1 ticket will be drawn for each class. Late work is not eligible for a raffle ticket.
